NFL Week 12

Atlanta Falcons -1
The Falcons have been struggling lately but continue to win and that's all that's needed with this spread. The Bucs are strong this year but not strong enough to contend with the bigs boys. Matt Ryan is 6-1 in last 7 starts vs. the Bucs. That's all the convincing I need.

Baltimore Ravens +1
I don't understand why the Ravens are the dogs in this game but I'll take it. The 8-2 Ravens head to SD who are 4-6. The Chargers have been like the Cowboys this season; when they're on, they're good. But when they're bad, its a disaster. Im hoping the Ravens D can rattled Rivers.

San Fran 49ers -1
Oh no...watch out NFL. The 9ers have a beast running game behind Frankie, but now they have a legit throwing game!? Kaepernick had a hell of a game vs the bears big strong D. I can't wait to see what he does against the Saints.

Thanksgiving Day Special

Could not pass up the opportunity to take advantage of Thanksgiving day football!

Houston Texans -4
I think everyone was shocked to see the Texans barely beat the Jaguars last week. It won't be the case today. Look for the Texans defense to lockdown today and prove they are not the same team that gave up 37 points to the Jags. The Texans are 9-1 for a reason with a high-power offense and one of the best defenses in the league.

NFL Week 11 Picks

Not enough times for write up but another strong day in football yesterday going 2-1 in NCAA play
Here we go!

Green Bay Packers -3.5
Playing against rival Lions, expect both teams to come out strong. But in the end, these two teams are headed in opposite directions and this spread is too small to help the Lions. Take Pack.

Tampa Bay Bucs -2
Not being given much praise, but the Bucs are becoming a solid squad. They face a struggling Carolina Panthers who's problems are apparent on and off the field. Get out those orange throwbacks and back the bucs.

Baltimore Ravens -3.5
Big Ben is out and it is still only a 3.5 spread, come on. These two teams always play tough against each other and look for the Ravens to pressure Leftwich.

NCAA Week 12

After a bye week last week in NCAA, lets get going on our week 12 picks!

Houston vs. Marshall Under 75
Not the most glamourous of match-ups but one people can take advantage of. I know both teams light up the scoreboard, but this is a divisional game and the end of the season is near. Look for both defenses to have a strong game and end the season with dignity. I'm not saying it will be a 6-3 game 75 points is too much to say no to.

Colorado State vs. Boise State Over 49
Little tip, if the spread is 28 for one team and the o/u is under 50, take the over. The Broncos can put up points at will, especially at home on that quick blue turf. I expect the blue to put up 40+ points alone, and if CS chips in, this game will be north of 60.

Ohio State +2
With a perfect record, expect the buckeyes to put up one hell of a fight vs Wisconsin. The last thing that  OS wants to do is give up their first loss to a rival. Get ready for a great Big Ten game. The last Big Ten team to put up a fight was Michigan State and that was back in September. Since then the Buckeyes have been untouchable.

NFL Week 10

Not enough time for long write ups this week, but with a 6-0 RECORD LAST WEEK, I don't think anyone will complain. Leggo!

NY Jets +6
I don't like the Jets play in generally lately, but when one of their top CB's states that they will make the playoffs, the Jets WILL be ready to play.

Chargers +3
It's time for Rivers to have a good game and if he can't have a good game against the Bucs, then the Chargers are done.

Broncos -4.5
We've been riding Manning and the boys lately and it has been working. Another soft spread on Denver.

Giants -5
P. Manning destroyed the Bengals defense and now they face Manning Jr. Hmmm, you can bet your ass there were a couple phone calls between the two this week discussing coverages and weak spots.

NFL Week 9 **BIG WEEK**

Been waiting for a big week to get back on track in the NFL and this may be it! Best spreads we've had on multiple games. This post will have less explanation but more plays, the spreads speak for themselves this week. Take advantage while you can and lets get it done! DB

Denver Broncos -4
Manning and the Broncos head to Cincinnati to play the struggling Bengals. Although they haven't lived up to their expectations, the Broncos are the much better team in this matchup. The Broncos have won 3 out of their last 4 while the Bengals have lost 3 straight.

Baltimore Ravens -4
Much like the Broncos spread...really!? The 6-2 Ravens face the 2-6 Browns. Coming off their bye week, the Ravens will be ready to rock in Cleveland. The Browns have a brutal offense and I don't see how they can keep this game close.

Chicago Bears -4 POW
What is with these spreads? The 6-1 Bears are just -4 against the 3-5 Titans?! You don't even deserve a write up. Don't be stupid, take DA BEARS.

Houston Texans -10.5
Too strong, too fast, too mean and too good. That about sums it up for the Texans. At home this week against the Buffalo "Beatdown" Bills. The last time the Bills played against a defense this good was when they got punished by the 49ers 45-3. And, the Texans have a better offense than the 49ers! Better get use to that turf this week Fitzpatrick, Watt and the boys are coming for you.

Atlanta Falcons -4.5
They are the only undefeated team left in the league and they only have a -4.5 spread at home!? I sound like a broken record but thats what I meant by the favorable spreads. The Cowboys are still trying to find themselves while the Falcons' crew are running like a machine. Take the Falcons.

Seattle Seahawks -4.5
Everyone knows Seattle has the worst weather in the league, but thats just how the Seahawks like it. They have the 12th man, non stop rain and a 3-0 record at home! The Vikings play in their nice and safe dome where they have been able to squeeze by opponents. They have only played one game outside this year. Well the Vikings are in for a rude awakening this week. Love the swag, love the stadium and love that neon green. Hawks!

NCAA Week 10

Going to continue our roll in NCAA with only two plays this week. Tough spreads but we have a MASSIVE week in NFL plays (posting shortly). #Leggo!

Iowa +2
The only reason why Iowa is the underdogs this week is because they are on the road. Vs. Indiana this week, it will be a good Big Ten matchup. Iowa has a tight defense that hasn't allowed over 20 points in their last 4 games. Despite being on the road, the Hawkeyes are the better team and will win.

East Carolina +3.5
The Pirates face the Cougars at home this week. Not the most popular matchup, but one of the few spreads that looked good this week. 2 similar teams from the C-USA, I expect this to be a good matchup. The Pirates have a good crowd and don't deserve to be the underdogs.

Not the best week for NCAA games but our NFL plays will make up for it. Quality is better than quantity and our 12-6 NCAA record is a prime example.

NFL Picks Week 8

Atlanta Falcons +3 POW
The undefeated Falcons head into Philly as the top ranked team in the NFL at 6-0 and face the Eagles who are 3-3. The Falcons are a team where everyone is working together and have the results to prove it. The Eagles have always looked strong on paper but do not play a team game like the Falcons. Bottom line, when an undefeated team is a 3 point underdog vs. a team that is .500 and are on a 2 game loosing streak, ya pick em!

SD Chargers -3
No team is wanting a win more than the Chargers this week. The Chargers are coming off a bye week and have been waiting for a chance to erase the meltdown they suffered against the Broncos. The Chargers have the 2nd ranked run defense and will force rookie quarterback Weeden to step up. Expect the Chargers to come out firing to put up points early and often. Pick the Bolts.

New York Giants -3
Remember when the Cowboys beat the Giants to kick off the season? Well I can guarantee that the Giants do. Since then, New York has been hot and have won 3 straight. Meanwhile, the Cowboys... Oh boy. All flash and no finish. They have dethroned the Jets as the biggest talkers in the league. Their billion dollar stadium and top model cheerleaders don't mean anything if the Cowboys can't figure how to play as a team. Take the Giants.

Friday 26 October 2012

NCAA Week 9

Ole Miss +6
Playing a fellow SEC rival in Arkansas this week, Ole Miss will keep it close on Saturday. The Rebels have averaged 32 points a game while giving up 26. Almost exact opposites, the Backs have given up 27 and given up 32. The records and stats alone favor Ole Miss yet they are the underdogs this week. The Backs are 2-3 at home while the Rebels are 1-1 on the road (and that loss came against #1 Bama). Pick the spread.

Ohio State -1
Two titans of the Big Ten clash this week as the Buckeyes visit Penn State. Ohio State is 8-0 and if you think they are willing to give up a perfect record to a conference rival then more power to you. The Buckeyes and the N. Lions have comparable stats so look for a close game. Sometimes it's better to go with your gut then to think with your brain and mine is screaming from a Buckeyes W.

Ohio -7 Sleeper pick of the Week
Meet the hottest team in the country. Well maybe not the hottest, but the country's favorite underdog story. The Bobcats are 7-0 and are ranked #24 in the country. They have scored 34 points or more in their past 4 games and are the team that no one expected to do anything. Under ex-Nebraska head coach Frank Solich, Ohio is a team that looks to prove that they belong with the big boys.

NCAA Week 8

Time to continue our NCAA hot start. "LET'S GET ROCKIN!' - Jack Black in School of Rock

Rutgers -4.5
Heading into week 8, the Scarlet Knights are still not being taken seriously. With a 6-0 record and 3-0 record in the Big East, they face off against an average Temple team. Temple's offense averages 27 points a game but now they face the 3rd ranked defense in the league that allows an average of 11 points against, yes... 11. The Knights will continue to pound the rock and put up points behind their star running back Jawan Jamison. Take the spread.

Clemson -7.5
#19 Clemson face off against Virginia Tech at home today. VT's biggest problem has been their consistency. At 4-3, VT is winless on the road and Clemson's Memorial stadium can be an intimidating place. The Tigers are 4-0 at home and the place will be amped for this ACC matchup. VT cannot overcome the crowd and continue their mediocre season. Take the orange.

Iowa State +14
Look for Iowa State to keep it close vs. Oklahoma State in this game. Iowa State has cracked the top 25 being ranked #24 and don't expect them to give it up that easily, especially vs. another ACC foe. Oklahoma St. has more firepower than the Cyclones but the Cyclones have a much better defense. Expect a tight game where defense and ball control will determine the winner.

NFL Plays Week 7

Tough week 6 in the NFL going 0-3 that included some shockingly close games (thanks New England and Baltimore). However, NCAA has been great going 8-4 in the past 2 week so lets hope it translates into NFL wins. And it all starts tonight!

Seattle vs. San Francisco Over 38
Lets just say week 6 was a wake up call for the 49ers, a BIG wake up call. After getting hammered 26-3 by the Giants, look for the 49ers to find that scoring touch. There is no doubt that the 49ers have the ability to score (remember week 5 win vs. the Bills 45-3 or week 4 win vs. the Jets 34-0... yeah). The Seahawks are coming off a great offensive show vs. the Patriots and have proven that they can match the big boys' firepower. Look for fireworks in Candlestick tonight.

Green Bay Packers -6
Hey Rodgers and the cheese heads, nice to finally see you! Houston was undefeated, at home, and looked like the strongest team in the NFL. But the Packers lit up the Houston defense and cruised to a 42-24 win. Heads up NFL teams, the pack is back. Playing with a chip on their shoulder, the new Packers head to St. Louis with an edge. St. Louis is in the wrong place at the wrong time this week.

New Orleans Saints -3 POW
Coming off their bye week, the Saints will be ready to rock in Tampa Bay. Don't think for a second that the Saints haven't noticed that they are winless on the road... that changes this week. Only thing you have to know about this game: Saints have #1 passing offense and the Bucs have the #31 pass defense. Come on...

Chicago Bears -6
At 4-1 and 2-0 at home, Soldier Field won't be a kind place for the Lions this week. After the falcons, the Bears are the most dangerous team in the NFC. This is a divisional matchup between two teams at the opposite ends of the totem pole. If the Lions get behind the ball early in this game it wont be as easy to come back, like they did last week vs. the Eagles. Fun fact, the Bears have scored 149 points and have only allowed 71. That's a differential of 78 points and is the highest in the NFL. Good luck Lions.

Buffalo Bills -3 Sleeper Pick of the Week
The Bills aren't exactly a dynamite team, but they are 1-1 at home while the Titans are an UGLY 0-3 on the road. The Titans have given up 106 points on the road and have only scored 31. Ouch. Believe it or not Ralph Wilson Stadium isn't the easiest place to play in. The Bills head into a bye week next week so look for the Bills and their fans to give it there all.

Saturday 13 October 2012

NCAA Week 7

West Virginia -4.5
WV and Texas Tech is going to come down to who has the most firepower. Although TT is 4-1 their only true test vs a ranked team came last week vs #17 Oklahoma and they got beat up 41-20. And now they have to turn around and play the #5 ranked Mountaineers...I don't think so! With a 2nd ranked arial attack, look points and lots of it. Spread is under a touchdown? Perfect! Take WV.

Boise State -7
The Broncos have won four straight and are back in the top 25. This is a big game vs the Bulldogs and look for the Broncos and their home crowd to be ready. With a 16th ranked defense, the Bulldogs will have to get past a stiff defense and if they can't get past the home atmosphere early, this game will run away from them. Broncos are one of the hottest teams in the country and don't expect that to change. Especially at home vs a conference rival.

Rutgers -7
Rutgers is 5-0 and 2-0 in the Big East. The Scarlet Knights have earned their 20th rank in the country while Syracuse has been just average. They are 2-3 this year and have averaged 24 points a game while giving up 26. It is a lopsided matchup and Rutgers is a hard enough place to play in already, rock the red this game.

NFL Week 6 Plays

Pittsburgh Steelers -6.5
The Steelers stock in the hypothetical NFL market world is rising. They have a 10th ranked passing offense and a running game that is starting to improve (finally). With Mendenhall back in the lineup the Steelers should have no problem putting up points against a struggling Titans team. It's not that the Steelers have been an unstoppable force, its that the Titans have been on a steady decline. In the past 2 games they have only put up 21 points and have been forced to turn to Hasselbeck after Locker's injury against the Patriots. And let's not get started on the play of CJ.

New England Patriots -4 POW
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said that no one is even close to the tempo of the Patriots offense. And with good reason. The Patriots have had the most offensive plays from scrimmage and have a 9th ranked arial attack behind Brady. Probably the biggest surprise is the Patriots running game that is 3rd in the league, yes I said third! Normally in the past it has been Brady 24/7 but with young running backs Bolden and Ridley, the Patriots offense now has the ability to put up huge yards on the ground. I just can't see the Seahawks covering the spread, pick Pats.

Baltimore Ravens -4
Heading back home after a disappointing win against the Chiefs last week (that's weird to say), look for the Ravens to take advantage of the home atmosphere and an ugly Cowboys offense. Baltimore is always a tough place to play and the drama that is revolving around the Cowboys and Romo makes it that much more difficult. The Ravens have won 3 straight while the Cowboys are 2-2. Much like the Patriots matchup, I dont see their opponents covering the spread, take Ray Lew and the Ravens.

NFL Week 5 Monday Nighter

Good week so far in football, especially in NCAA. Have gone 2-2 in NFL Picks and went 6-3 with our NCAA this weekend. Let's try and break the .500 mark in NFL with our Monday night play.

Houston -9.5

Bottom line is the Jets have been awful, Sanchez has been absolute garbage, Revis and Holmes out... Unless Tebow comes in and gets God to back them up in this one, the Jets are going to get pummeled. Without Holmes and Revis, the Jets probably won't make the playoffs. Houston has a great offense and Foster will be an absolute truck in this one.

NCAA Week 6 Picks&Quick Hits

Utah St. vs. BYU Under 46
Super Saturday
This came has all the making to be a close game. Utah has the 18th ranked defense in the country while BYU only gives up an average of 10 points per game and is ranked 4th. Neither squad has a first-class  offense so look for a defensive battle that will be won in the trenches.

Boise State -10
Southern Miss is 0-4 on the season and hasn't looked sharp in any of their games. They are not-so proud owners of the 102nd ranked defense in the country and average 34 points against. I still believe Boise is a powerhouse program, pick the -10.

Mississippi State -10
Miss St. hasn't played since Sept. 22nd and I guarantee they will be chomping at the bit to roll over Kentucky. I love the fact that Miss is undefeated this season while Kentucky is 1-4 and 0-2 in the SEC. Take the 20th ranked Mississippi State to cover.

Kent State -3
Take advantage of this spread please! Kent is 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in the MAC while Eastern Michigan is 0-4 and 0-1 in the conference. While Kent averages 30+ points this year, EM averages 15.. yes, I said 15. Take Kent.

UCLA -3
You can bet that after making it back into the top 25, the Bruins will not give that up easily. This is one of those games where you just got to go with your gut, and mine is screaming to pick UCLA. Historically Cal has been trouble for the Bruins but this is a new team. Look at their stats and let's hope my gut is right.

Tulsa -4
Tulsa is quietly becoming a team to be taken seriously. They are averaging 42 points and game and have ridden a strong defense to a 4-1 start. The fact that they are playing a fellow conference team means they will be heading into Marshall ready to rock. -4, come on man! Pick Tulsa.

Northwestern +3
I love what Northwestern has done this year and look to be a player in the Big Ten. They are 5-0, they are ranked 24th and they are hungry for more. "Northwestern is 6-0," sounds weird right? Well might become reality after Saturday. Penn State hasn't put up many points but haven't allowed many either. I like the +3 cushion, should be a fun Big Ten matchup.

Bowling Green -4
BG at -4 may be a sleeper on Saturday. BG is 2-3 this season but have had a tough schedule to start off with. Their 3 losses have been to Virginia Tech, Florida and Toledo, none of which are push overs. Look for BG to have a breakout game against the struggling defense of Akron (42 points a game against, ouch).

LSU -3
LSU vs. Florida, both undefeated, both top 10 ranked, both in the SEC, I love it! Both teams have strong defenses and it will come down to which offense can push through. Enter LSU. Defense wins championships but this game will be decided by the offense. The Tigers will be ready to take a chomp out of the Gaiters on Saturday.

Week 5 Picks - Quick Hits

Baltimore Ravens -6
Historically Arrowhead stadium is one of the loudest venues in the NFL, but this year that hasn't helped the Chiefs. The Chiefs are 1-3 on the season and 0-2 at home and the boo-birds have been chirping Cassel. We like the Ravens because if the defense can get to Cassel early, which they will, the game could snowball in favor of Baltimore. For an organization known for their defense, the Ravens offense has been very impressive. The perfect storm for Baltimore fans.

Atlanta Falcons -3
When are teams going to start taking the Falcons seriously? Want to hear something scary... 11-2. That's 11 tds and 2 interceptions for Matt Ryan. He's led Atlanta to a 4-0 start and, if you ask me, are the strongest team in the NFC. I know, people always resort to "well what about Green Bay, Chicago, San Fran, etc" News-flash all you traditionalists, the Falcons are the most complete team in the NFC and possibly the NFL right now. And because off all the skeptics out there, they are going to continue to prove it on Sunday.

Falcons vs. Redskins Over 50.5
Each team has averaged 30 points or more each game this season. And jump on the RGIII bandwagon gentlemen! He has rejuvenated the Redskins offense and Mike Shanahan realizes that. The Skins are starting to play a lot more like Baylor did last year and are putting the ball in RG's hands. And on the other side, Ryan, Jones, Gonzalez, White and Turner. Plus, how can you not love these two teams.  Should be a fun game to watch!

Chicago Bears -6
The Bears are off to a 3-1 start while the Jaguars, well... yeah. Blaine Gabbert has yet to evolve into a starting qb and the Jaguars offense is, well... poor Jacksonville. The Jaguars are averaging 15 points a game and now face the Bears defense. Meanwhile, the Bears offense have looked stronger than ever and no longer rely on their defense to win games. The two teams are just polar opposites. One team is one of the best teams in the league while the other team is Jacksonville. POW!

NFL Picks - Week 5

So we've been making plays and tracking our records on and off for about a year and a half now, but here's TL Props's first official picks on the blog! We'll keep track of our record throughout the season and every week we will have a play of the week (POW). Let's do it!

Week 5
Baltimore Ravens -6
Atlanta Falcons -3
Atlanta Falcons vs. Washington Redskins Over 50.5
Chicago Bears -6     (POW)

On a side note, we are leaning towards the Arizona Cardinals -2 on the Thursday night game. Not an official play, just an interesting matchup especially vs. The St. Louis Rams. We're buying into the Cardinals defense and the play of quarterback Kevin Kolb. Of course, they could fall apart and within a month and be back to the .500 Cardinals we all know of. That is why it's not an official play. But they're riding a hard-nosed defense and a systematic offense. Just something to watch. Sleeper of the year?

About The Boys

Welcome to TL Props Sports Blog! This blog is run by a couple of bros (T and L) and is nothing but sports! I know your all thinking why T? Why L? Why the secrecy? Well, no real reason. Just when creating a blog, why not keep it cool. And TL Props just sounds pretty sweet.
